How to balance JBL Youtube and Blog Posts – things that make you go hmmm :-)

Hey Friends!

One of our readers (thank you Will :-)) asked me about the Youtube vidos I’ve been posting. He wanted to know if I’m posting all of them here in the JBL blog.

Nope I’m not.

My strategy up till now has been: if a video fits well with a blog post, I include the video in the post.

Here’s what I’m up to:

I’m aiming to post one Youtube a day for 90 days (October 30 2018 – Jan 30 2019). So far, I’ve uploaded videos a majority of those days. But content is king. So if I ain’t feelin’ it, I ain’t postin’ it.

Do you want I should republish all the YouTubes here in separate blog posts?

Hmmmm…. That’s a lot of videos.

There’s a link at the footer of this here website that links directly to my YouTube videos.

As I learn about the interweb, I’m keeping my mind open to ideas for “how” to approach this growing library. If you have a suggestion, I’m open to hearing it.

And with that, here’s some humor for you πŸ™‚

Keep shining your magic!

  1. Well, yes, I really DO “want you should re-publish all your YouTubes”… because I get so much out of them, Debbie. But here’s an idea to ‘keep it simple’ (without having to make blog-posts galore to accompany each): Create an archive your peeps/readers can go to, either using a chronological listing (i.e., simply listing them by their dates, from most recent to ‘oldest’) OR via some sort of basic topical headings (e.g., Applying JBL Principles w/ Others, Self-Care, Handling Narcissistic Abuse, etc. or whatever). The point is: If you put ’em out there, people will have the opportunity to dive into ’em. If you don’t, they won’t! πŸ˜‰
Regardless of how you do it, Debbie, I’m grateful for your considering this request that you share the many gifts these videos bring forward. And (voice of a Jewish man in a deli), could there be a more appropriate time? (i.e., the numerous gifts Jewish children traditionally receive during Hanukkah) πŸ™‚ HAPPY HANUKKAH!

  2. I suppose my question is: Is having an archive people can go to something you’d desire to provide/maintain? (Is it difficult to do, I guess is part of that question, right?)
Anyway, thanks for considering it, Debbie! πŸ™‚

      1. Oh, I didn’t see the YouTube archive of your videos, Debbie… Will check for it later today and see if I have any other suggestions… perhaps making note of that fact — “Many/All (whatever) of my JBL videos are archived on YouTube: go to this link [insert link]” — somewhere on your JBL home page. Have a superb day! πŸ™‚
