And my fave counter culture song of all time made it to #1!!! By the way, I remember where I was the first time I heard ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL. Age 10. Public bus in Israel 🇮🇱 during a summer when my mom and sister and I were visiting. Hell yeah!!! Those words sang to my BONES. Someone understood.

To answer your question, my favorite counter-culture song is by The Who… “We’re Not Gonna’ Take It/See Me, Feel Me”… and I heard it first off of their album, “Tommy” in our living room in the fall of 1969 — but now with the internet, the best version to listen to is on YouTube, labeled, “We’re Not Gonna Take It (Live 1970)”…ignore the visuals, but turn it up LOUD!! — It rocked my world, giving expression to something so inherent within me… and I usually weep tears at some point during the ending crescendo of “See Me, Feel Me” (I’ve read somewhere Pete Townshend wrote it “to God”)… Thanks for asking, Debbie… Once again, by ‘being here’ on your JBL blog, I feel validated for just being me as I am.
