Having just spent time with a friend who, although not in an abusive relationship, is facing life-threatening health issues, I found what you shared here, Debbie insightful, illuminating and “transferable” to addressing someone who wants to be treated with respect and given space to say/divulge whatever they feel comfortable & safe to share. By following the “path” you described, I got results my heart & soul can live with. Thank you, once again! 😉
