About 10 years ago, someone suggested I attend a co-dependency type of meeting. I was going through a lot of deep transformation and although I resisted the idea (big time), I finally made my way through the doors. I promised I would at least give it a try. That I would attend 6 meetings.
Ugh. I sat down in a chair around a table with about 10 women whose vibes didn’t seem too happy or giddy. I really didn’t want to be there.
At some point in the meeting, someone in the group asked me how I was doing. I decided to be honest and said I really didn’t want to be there but that I was willing to do whatever it took to get on the other side of whatever was creating unwanted drama in my life.
As I spoke, everyone scooted in closer and wanted to hear more. This surprised me. It meant they could relate. And this was a truth-meter that I REALLY didn’t want to see. But there it was. I belonged in this room. These people resonated with my honest, authentic truth. O CRAP.
So I attended for a while and learned what I could about the nature of co-dependency and how to take my life back from such a destructive pattern. Since co-dependency is quite invisible (as compared to alcoholism or drug addiction for example), it helped us to have affirmations or mantras.
One mantra, in particular, helped me pop back to reality after taking trips down denial river.
Awareness Acceptance and Action.
Here’s an example: Awareness that I just gave my power away to someone. Acceptance that I did it. And then (sometimes terrified), taking the action of setting a boundary with them.
It’s been years since I attended a meeting, but this mantra has stayed with me like a loyal pet. Today, it joyfully popped up in a conversation about bringing out the magic in people.
- Are you aware of the magic in you?
- Can you accept that it’s a real thing?
- What action are you taking to expresses said magic? 🙂
This mantra, spoken in this context, felt absolutely DELICIOUS, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you!
You can use this triple-A mantra to unlock your energy and release your authentic brilliance.. your magic! Your magic isn’t limited to logic or rationale. You can recognize it by the joy in your heart or the sparkle in your eyes.
I encourage you to do whatever it takes to set your magic free. you will bring more JOY into your life which will radiate JOY to others in the world.
The magic in you exists because YOU DO.

The “magic-making” suggestion you provide here, as well as your clear, inviting description of it, is yet another gift I appreciate from you & your recent posts. I’d love to see a TV commercial advertising such: “Triple A… Don’t leave home without it!” 🙂
Thank you 🙂 Me too!
