Touchstones to Sanity Part 2 – we are here for you – Episode 32 #lioness

We love being touchstones to sanity for you. Is there anything we can do to help you become a touchstone to sanity in your world?

In response to Juli’s poignant compliment about how Michele and I are offering touchstones of sanity through our podcast and through these blog posts, we wanted to discuss how we got here. How it is we are able to ride the storm as smoothly as we are… so far, anyway. Besides having a good buffer of toilet paper (without being hogs about it), we have psychologically developed a deep sense of strength and balance through our JBL community over the last 3 years.

We want to share some of our habits and practices with you so that you can weather your storm better by reinforcing your own subcultures of wellness, or by starting your own subculture of wellness.

Topics

  • attribution – JBL, subculture of wellness, is an oasis
  • honor, feed the COW (see below)
  • routine vs novelty, having a healthy combination of both
  • projects, communication that keep us in communication with positive people
  • being more present in your body
  • jet fuel in my cereal – more emotionally literate, conscious of what we bring to conversations, understanding
  • being more patient with people who aren’t in a personal growth mindset
  • watching people spin their wheels
  • accepting anger and impatience
  • emotional color wheel
  • Michele’s elephant doodle, daily routine, 20 minutes of art in 2020

Excerpt from yesterday’s blog post

Two nights ago, Michele and I talked about prioritizing self-care and structuring self-care activities. We shared our blog/ podcast at Facebook and at LinkedIn, and our friend Juli gave us our favorite testimonial so far:

Thank you for these touchstones to sanity!

Juli Jordan

We wrote a letter of appreciation to Juli and all of you in yesterday’s post.

Question for you: If you could have it all your way, how would you incorporate these 3 possibilities into your daily life?

  • feeding your container of worthiness
  • inclusive compassion
  • mutual admiration society

Please post your answer in the comment section below, or go to anchor.fm/sassyshorts and leave us a voice message. Thank you so much for all of your comments, likes and shares! You are letting us know that we are making a difference and we really appreciate you for that.
