Part 1 of this post is here.
WANT TO END PROCRASTINATION FOREVER ??? Procrastination doesn’t feel hazardous, which is why so many people let themselves get away with it. It’s like a deadly non-scented toxic fume.
If you’re procrastinating on the activities that would generate the most joy (for yourself and those you love)… you’re missing out on life. That kind of procrastination will knock you dead. Maybe not physically. But your sense of aliveness will dim dim dim until you don’t even recognize yourself.
The greatest task for every human being is to find a place in the world where they can ground themselves for becoming an entirely authentic self; this responsibility for fulfilling our evolution is put squarely on everyone’s shoulders (free will).

AHA!!!!
LANDFILL GAS. I remembered seeing pipes sticking out of land to release gas but I couldn’t remember where I saw it.
I think normal shame might just need some baking soda and vinegar.
But toxic shame hidden deep at one’s core requires EXTREME VALIDATION WHILE FACING THE ACTUAL EMBODIED SHAME.

Can you say MOTHERLODE?
Can you say HOME?
WELCOME HOME! AGAIN AND AGAIN! WELCOME HOME!
YOU ARE THE TREASURE
I’m researching toxic fumes in mines. LOOOVING this metaphor. It’s exciting and fascinating to me.
Toxic fumes in gold mines represent the core toxic shame that exists in people who’ve been severely traumatized / narcissistically abused.
The gold mine /motherlode in such a person is likely to run deeper than most people’s (due to the depth of the secrecy, and therefore shame)
Therefore, the toxic fumes (shame) will exist at deeper levels.
Therefore, such people may need LONGER pipes to release the fumes. (See photo of methane gas pipe in the landfill.)
In healing, THE PIPE IS MADE OF EMPATHY IN THE MOMENT THAT IT IS DIRECTLY APPLIED TO THE EXPERIENCE OF OLD SHAME. The pipe allows for the release of the fumes. The feeling of validation is the healing. It’s the actual release of the core toxic shame. The result is that gold can be mined and brought to life
GOLD IS the aliveness in each person, fully experienced and expressed.
If the shame is really deep, it will require someone who has dug that deep in themselves to :
a) help provide a safe environment for the person to reveal the well-hidden shame
b) provide the empathy at that level, at that depth, in the moment of remembering
c) mine the GOLD (their extraordinary strengths; their feelings of joy about themselves and their own power)
d) bring their metaphorical GOLD to real life in the person’s next action steps, which they may be avoiding (actively or passively or blind-sided-ly). This is where the proverbial rubber meets the road. None of the above matters without this.
ENDING PROCRASTINATION
So… if you’ve been procrastinating in ways that continue to baffle you because the PROJECT (OR CONVERSATION OR RELATIONSHIP) means so much to you… you could be zoning out due to toxic fumes of shame which are stopping you in your tracks. It’s as though you go unconscious just at the moment of action.
If this is the case, please BE KIND to yourself. IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT. Reach out. Get help. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You’ll need to gather information, create a road map and find allies. I recently blogged about 2 key resources to help you get some traction.
If you want one-on-one assistance, check out my coaching offer. If you want group support, buy the JBL e-book (it’s the first step prior to accessing our community). There are more allies becoming available in the world so be sure to find someone who has truly “been there” who can see you through.

TOXIC FUMES METAPHOR IN MINING
In coal mining:
Did miners really take birds into mines?
Miner’s canary. Canaries were once regularly used in coal mining as an early warning system. Toxic gases such as carbon monoxide or methane in the mine would kill the bird before affecting the miners. Signs of distress from the bird indicated to the miners that conditions were unsafe.
In gold mining:
Although mercury use in small-scale gold mining in Indonesia is illegal, miners still use it to extract gold from the rock or soil. … But the fumes are highly toxic, which is why smelters like Fahrul often show more severe signs of mercury poisoning than miners who use it in the field.
In abandoned mines:
from http://deq.wyoming.gov/aml/dangers-of-abandoned-mines/
Explosives and toxic chemicals: Blasting caps, dynamite and chemicals were often left behind when the workings were abandoned. Explosives become unstable with age and can be detonated by the vibration of footsteps. Abandoned chemicals such as cyanide, arsenic, mercury and other deadly toxins may be present in leaking and deteriorating containers.
Dangerous gases: Lethal concentrations of methane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide may accumulate in underground passages. Oxygen deficient air may cause suffocation. People have died within a few feet of mine openings.
YOU GOT THIS. Turn inward. You’re not going to die. But you will require a tremendous amount of courage and commitment. YOU ARE WORTH IT.
THE TREASURE IS YOU. WELCOME HOME.
